FAQ

  • Where does my money go if I donate? Every dollar donated goes to directly to help pay for the new library on Utah Valley University campus.  All expenses are being paid for out-of-pocket by UVUSA and those of us who believe in the cause.
  • Why Stephen Colbert? There are two main reasons why we want to name a room after Stephen Colbert:1)  Stephen Colbert plays an incredibly significant role in making sure that college age students are politically active and aware.  We feel that we, as students of Utah Valley University, can help thank him for his efforts by immortalizing him in our new, multi-million dollar library.

    2)  Stephen Colbert has an age old tradition of getting things named after him.  He has his own flavor of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream called “AmeriCone Dream.”  Virgin America named one of their airplanes Air Colbert in his name.  He has his own species of spider, and even has his own holiday in Ontario, Canada. (Why doesn’t he have his own holiday here?)  What better thing to add to this list than a room in UVU’s truthiness learnitorium?

Not to mention, we could get some awesome publicity out of all this.

  • What happens to the money if we don’t raise enough to name a room? I shudder to think that we will not raise enough money, but there is always the possibility that the students of UVU will not be able pull through.  If this is the case, we plan to donate 100% of the funds raised to a one time Stephen Colbert Scholarship which will benefit the most patriotic supporters of truthiness on campus.
  • How can I get involved? You can join our Facebook Group, tell your friends or DONATE! If we can $1 from less than 20% of the students on campus, we will easily surpass our goal. If that’s not enough for you, you can e-mail Nate at natebags[at]gmail.com
